I am trilingual and fluent in English, French, and Indonesian. English is my paternal tongue and I have been told that I "sound like a Valley girl". Yet every time I apply for a position that requires "Native English speaker", I am never considered native. In all cases, "Native" does mean white. Otherwise it would be stated as "Fluent". Employers should really just start posting "Caucasian" instead to save time for recruiters and candidates.
