I was thinking about this when I started seeing more business appearing on Netflix shows such as Dream Home Makeover (Studio McGee), The Home Edit, and also Selling Sunset (Oppenheim Group) These are great shows but at the same time I got the feeling that I was watching one very long advertisement instead of just a regular show. Especially when the stars are always promoting their products within the show like "oh you can get this on our website or at Target" . Thanks for clarifying it. Makes a lot of sense now!! It would also explain the constant email marketing Netflix sends out to gage if we enjoyed the shows. Brilliant article Esat!
