Love
Where My Heart Wanders: A Tale of Love’s Absence
With each new dawn, my hopes arise,
Yearning to gaze into your eyes.
But as the sun dips low at day’s end,
So do my tears, with you, descend.
Another day, you’re far away,
Another wish I wish you’d stay.
Countless moons have waxed and waned,
Yet in my sight, you are restrained.
How do I heal this aching heart?
Perhaps it’s now a forgotten art.
As the saying goes,
Tomorrow is another day.
But even then, you might still be
A distant memory within me.
They say self-love is the best medicine,
A cure that needs no other, clear in its vision.
But how can I embrace myself,
When half my heart is missing?
For in your absence, I am only half-alive,
Longing for the day when our worlds will finally collide.
